HuntWashingtonState.com began as an idea in December of 2006. Since then, we have had thousands of unique visitors come to this site with tens of thousands of page views.
Some of the founding members of this site are 4th generation Washington hunters, quite a feat when Washington State only became a State in 1889. We have recognized that in order to have a 5th, 6th, 7th and so on... generation of hunters, something more has to be done.
The rapid decrease in available hunting land and ever changing rules and regulations have made for increasingly difficult productive hunting opportunity in the State of Washington. Gas Prices, professional and personal time constraints, increased land development, and the like are all contributory factors in the ability to successfully find productive hunting areas. HuntWashingtonState.com relies on those hunters who are willing to provide additional information for others in their hunting community to help keep the hunting in our state robust and growing. HuntWashingtonState.com does not intend to eliminate the need for true scouting and true woodsmanship, but, we realize that we are losing mentors who are willing to take the time to show someone the ropes. We hope that this site provides some of that integral missing component of the hunting tradition.
HuntWashingtonState.com does not pretend to be the only on-line resource available for the Washington State hunting community, but we do intend to fill in the gaps that other websites do not cover.
